Ordering local drinks can be broken up into two parts. The first word which is the drink and the second word which describes how you would like your drink.
First words would be:
(1) Kopi (Regular local asian coffee)
(2) Teh (Local tea - usually red or black)
(3) Cham (A Coffee-Tea Mixture)
(4) Neslo (The Asian Mocha which consists of Nescafe Coffee and Milo)
Second words would describe how you like the drink:
A standalone for the above drink would usually denote a drink with condensed milk and hot O-Kosong or Kosong means 'nothing'. The drink by itself. No sugar, no condensed milk, no evaporated milk
O = with sugar only, no milk. Example: Kopi-O would be black coffee with sugar.
C = with evaporated milk and sugar
C-Kosong = with evaporated milk but no sugar
Peng/Bing = Iced
Yit = Hot
Gau = extra rich or strongly brewed. Example: Milo-Gau is a Hot milo drink with added milo
Poh = a weak brew
Gah Dai = Extra sweet
Siu Dai (Cantonese) or Kurang Manis (Malay) = Less Sweet
